• Barely a day old, Emma was placed in a magical wardrobe and brought to the real world in hopes that someday she'd save her parents and everyone. She ends up bouncing between foster homes until she's about 16 years old. She leaves and starts living on the streets, stealing what she needs to survive.
• She falls in love with a man named Neal after they end up attempting to steal the same car. They fall in love not long after and become partners in crime. Neal eventually betrays Emma and leaves her to be arrested by the police for a crime he did. She finds out that she is pregnant in prison and gives the child up for adoption.
• On her 28th birthday, she reunites with her son, Henry and she returns him back to Storybrooke where not everything is as it seems. She ends up staying in town, becoming deputy sheriff and then later sheriff after Grahm dies.
• Emma finally breaks the spell after Henry eats an apple turnover meant for herself. He falls under a sleeping curse that she then breaks with true loves kiss and restores everyone's memories. Magic is also released back into the town which causes its own problems.
• She ends up at some point in the Enchanted Forest with her mother where she meets Captain Hook and Cora. Through trial and error, they manage to return back to Storybrooke, but Captain Hook and Cora come as well. Emma eventually has to make good on the deal she made with Mr. Gold to help find his son who turns out to be her ex-boyfriend and Henry's father.
• Henry is taken to Neverland by Neal's fiancee and her partner in crime, forcing Emma and the gang to go and rescue him. She finds herself having to choose between Hook and Neal who ends up being alive. Pan fights a fierce battle, but in the end, she gets her son back despite the fact that a terrible curse plagues the town once more. Regina tells Emma and Henry to leave, giving them false memories so that they could be happy together. Eventually, Emma's memories are restored by Hook who valiantly returns for her.
• Emma goes on her first date with Killian which goes rather smoothly for the most part, finding herself slowly falling for him. It ends up getting derailed by a thief who tries to cut and run, Killian losing his temper on him. All in all, it turns out rather well.
• Emma meets the Snow Queen who turns out to be someone from Emma's past and is forced to defend those she cares about from her. She finds out that she displays magical powers, terrified that she might hurt someone. She tries to isolate herself from the others, but it doesn't seem to work out quite that well and she eventually embraces them reluctantly.

• Emma became the dark one in an effort to spare those she loved, sacrificing herself for those she loved. Eventually, it was removed from her, but at a terrible cost when she 'murdered' the love of her life. Only due to the fact that she turned him into a dark one to save his life. She now has plans to go to the underworld and get him back, hoping it's not too late to save him.
